  1. Invest in decent glassware. If you are a beginner in the wine world, Wine Is Life Store experts recommend purchasing glasses with medium-sized bowls, which are versatile enough for all types of wines, and thin rims, which always improves wine flavor. Try to avoid dishwasher: handwashing will keep them looking their best, without any scratches or cracks.

  2. Get must-have wine tools and gadgets. Wine Is Life Store experts recommend keeping a cooling jelly bag in the freezer to quickly cool down the bottles. Find the most comfortable corkscrew for you - there are plenty of them available nowadays. Consider getting bottleneck ring to prevent wine dripping. Once you start to advance your wine knowledge, Wine Is Life Store recommends purchasing wine thermometer to reach the most optimal wine temperature. (Learn more about wine temperature).

  3. Find your favorite red and white wine and keep a couple of bottles at home. It is great to have a spare bottle if you have a spontaneous visit. If you are still exploring the wine world, we recommend getting the bottles under 12$: you should not feel guilty for uncorking the bottle if you feel like enjoying a glass on Wednesday evening. Store a bottle of Chardonnay (the majority of wine drinkers enjoy this white wine variety), and for red consider purchasing a bottle or Rjoja or Merlo. These reds work well with various dishes and are easy to pair with food.

  4. Keep your wine bottle is a safe comfortable place. Do NOT store wine in a warm place, close to heat or direct sun. If you have enough space, Wine Is Life Store experts recommend purchasing a wine rack that stores bottle horizontally  to make sure the corks are wet to prevent drying out. If you are limited with space, choose the darkest and coldest spot in your apartment and keep the bottles there.

Wines can be damaged by extremes in heat or cold, adversely affecting the flavor. The flavor can develop much better when storage temperatures range between 50 and 55 degrees.

  5. Cheap wine isn't always a bad thing. If you want to find wine that tastes great and costs less, give Chilean wines a try. Many of their wines are prices reasonably. Their Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc are excellent choices. South Africa, New Zealand, and Argentina also have some great wines at great prices.

  6. Sulfite warnings shouldn't frighten you. U.S. companies have to put these warnings on their bottles. While it is true that some may experience an allergic reaction to sulfites, remember that you are not likely to have one if you have been exposed to them before.

  7. Take a trip to the regions that are growing the wine. To have a full appreciation for the way the grapes taste, it helps to locate where they're harvested. This gives you the right knowledge to discern and explain wine to others. Wine regions are usually extremely beautiful and pleasant to visit.

  8. Listen to what wine experts say, but don't take them too seriously. Any real wine expert will readily admit that they don't know everything there is to know about wine. What they like might not be what you like. This means you should acknowledge your own tastes before that of an expert.

  9. Travel to a wine country! Wine is not all about drinking. As you start exploring the world of wine, you will start learning new cultures, cuisine, and traditions.

You will appreciate a wine in a different way once you see where the grapes grow. Vineyards are an alternative for shorter visits. You can relax with your favorite drink and learn a lot in the process!

  10. Never stop learning. There is so much to learn about wine! Drink, read, ask questions: never stop exploring. As you move forward, you will see how much the wine world has to offer.
